Lutheran Family Services (LFS),
Mission Statement
Lutheran Family Services, an extended arm of the Lutheran Congregations, exists to grow families and build communities by providing services to adults and children that increase the quality of their lives.
Who We Are & What We Do
Lutheran Family Services (LFS), originally known as Lutheran Children's Aid Society was founded in 1903 "to provide home, maintenance and Christian education for destitute and orphaned children. During the past century of social service the scope and mission of Lutheran Family Services has evolved to "growing families and building communities," and is reflected in the
agency's vision of providing comprehensive counseling, mental health and adoption services to adults, children, and families in Northeastern Ohio regardless of religion, age, race, disability, national origin, or ability to pay.
Our core programs include youth and adult mental health counseling, school based counseling and peer mediation, family life education, and domestic and international adoption services. All services are provided by Licensed Social Workers and Professional Clinical Counselors, and Adoption Assessors.
The agency provides all services on a sliding fee scale based on the client's ability or inability to pay. In addition to our main campus
located in the heart of Ohio City, we also serve clients at outposts in
Brooklyn, North Royalton, Fairview Park, and Chagrin Falls.
